F.A.Q.

The NF Story

Nintendo Power is no more. The announcement went out last August, and the magazine's final issue launched last December. The original publication made to be the source of news, previews and reviews of the Nintendo video game scene was unplugged – but its legacy didn't die. A new team of writers, artists and designers took up the torch. Calling ourselves "The Nintendo Force," we sought to usher in a new era of Nintendo coverage in magazine form, paying homage to Power's past while moving forward to embrace the future.

The debut issue of NF Magazine launched on January 11, 2013 as a print-on-demand publication and quickly soared to become the most popular single issue ever sold through MagCloud.com. Thousands of readers stepped up to join the Force, and the call went out that they wanted full subscriptions. We obliged, and those thousands are now still enjoying what was thought to be lost – the excitement of new, Nintendo-focused magazines arriving in the mailbox. (And by email!)

We're still just starting out, as this is still just the very beginning of what we plan to be a long, lasting journey through Nintendo's 3DS and Wii U generation and beyond. Thanks to all of you who've shown your support so far – please have patience as we work out the early kinks of what it takes to publish an on-going magazine, as it's already been a challenging ride. But we're pushing through any and all adversity to keep Forcefully advancing into the future!

Nintendo Power may be no more, but the Nintendo Force is here to stay.

Subscription Questions

How can I subscribe to the magazine?

Both digital and print and bundles are available right now! Just click "Subscribe" at the top of this page, or follow this link right here.

How much does a subscription cost?

We've been able to reduce the price of printed issues significantly. The "$18 + shipping" cost for Issue #1 was a killer, I know. But because so many of you supported us even with that steep price, it proved that a large enough audience existed to be able to approach printing companies and get much, much better quotes for bulk orders of future issues. So instead of 18 bucks + shipping per issue going forward, we're now able to offer print bundles that break down to just a few bucks per issue. With shipping included in that!

OK, I subscribed! But I didn't get a confirmation email. What's the deal?

Check your email's spam folder. Spam filters don't like the word "subscription" very much, so lots of people have had their order confirmations erroneously flagged as junk.

I want to subscribe, but what if I need to change my address? I'm going to be moving soon.

No problem. Just send an email to addresschange@nintendoforcemagazine.com any time you need to make a change to your where your issues should be sent.

Just how many issues am I going to get with a subscription anyway?

We're bi-monthly right now, with an ultimate goal of moving to having a new issue every month in the future. (That's the way Nintendo Power started out too.) If you ordered a full-year subscription when they became available in February, you'll get a total of six issues – ending with Issue #7 in January/February 2014. If you're joining the party later, you'll be able to buy a bundle that lets you jump on board at the current point in the subscription year and arrive at the same endpoint as everyone else – right now, for example, four-issue bundles are available that will begin with Issue #4 in July/August and go through Issue #7. Full-year subscriptions will then be available again at the beginning of next year for everyone, whether you were one of the first to subscribe or just jumped in to join the Force. It's a different kind of subscription structure for a different age of magazine publishing, and helps us with planning – with everyone set to be up for renewal at the same point at the start of each year, we don't have to constantly juggle that part of the publishing process year-round.

What issue will I get first with my subscription?

If you buy a bundle today, your first issue will be Issue #4 in July/August 2013.

But I still need a copy of earlier issues!

They aren't going anywhere. You'll still be able to buy a copy of #1, #2 or #3 as a standalone purchase through MagCloud.com. We'll also be offering a "Get Caught Up" digital bundle that will contain the PDF versions of the first three issues together. Look for that soon.

The checkout page says I have to use PayPal to pay. I don't like PayPal. Is there any way I can use a credit card instead?

Go ahead and pick your subscription, enter your info and then click Process Order. It'll take you to a second page that will allow you to use a credit card. PayPal's just the processor, you don't have to use their system if you don't want to.

Do we have to pay extra for shipping?

Nope, shipping's included in the price. What you pay for a print subscription allows us to both print the magazines and mail them to you.

I subscribed, but I never got my issue in the mail! What's the deal?

Print issues can take several weeks to be delivered beyond the digital version's release date – we recommend opting for a Combo bundle of both print and digital issues! That way you'll get access to the content immediately and won't be stuck waiting by the mailbox, getting all frustrated and angry. Physical products take time to be produced and delivered, people. It's part of why Nintendo Power closed down. We're offering printed versions of our issues to keep the legacy going, but if you're jumping on board with us then you've got to have some patience and understanding. Print takes time, and the postal service isn't the greatest. As an official disclaimer, NF Publishing, LLC isn't responsible for delays in delivery or damage to print issues sustained in the course of delivery.

We aren't the postal service. We create the content of the magazines and send the pages to a separate publishing company to be printed and shipped to you, and the postal service takes charge of getting them to your mailbox. If something goes haywire along the way, we'll try to work with you to make it right – send us an email at subscriptions@nintendoforcemagazine.com and let us know what's up. Just be cool about it when you get in touch, will you? We're still just starting out here and we're working to make things as smooth as we can as fast as we can.

I subscribed to the digital version, but I never got my issue in my email! What's the deal with that?

The digital version of the magazine is handled similarly to the print edition in the sense that it's sent out in shipments. On the day of each new issue's release, an email containing a link to download the issue's digital PDF file is sent to all of our digital subscribers. You need to make sure that the email address we have on record for you is valid and able to receive these deliveries – just like a printed magazine can't be delivered to a house that doesn't exist, a digital magazine can't be emailed to an incorrect email address. Some Internet service providers like Comcast also don't play nice with file-delivery emails, so if your email address ends in "@comcast.net" you may need to provide us with a different email address to use in getting your magazines to you – get in touch with us at subscriptions@nintendoforcemagazine.com to work that out.

The emailed download links are active for only a limited time, so don't leave them unused for more than two weeks – you wouldn't leave a print magazine just sitting there in your physical mailbox, after all. And if you buy a digital bundle after the current issue's initial email shipment has already gone out, your first issue will be emailed to you in the next shipment. (They usually go out on Fridays.) Immediate download links are something we're working toward in the future, so stay tuned as we keep making progress!

I want to buy a print subscription/bundle, but it's not showing up on the checkout page! Where is it?

Items on the checkout page are in continuous rotation as we transition from one issue to the next, and you've probably just visited during one of the transition times. Check back in another day or so to see the updated options.
