Issue #24: The Version Inversion – November/December 2016

Or, rather, the cover positions , plural! We revisited a concept we hadn’t used since Issue #9: a flippable double cover! You’ll get the majesty of Solgaleo representing Pokémon Sun on one side, and the mystery of Lunala championing Pokémon Moon on the reverse. But unlike our older issues with flippable covers, we actually went all-in on the “upside down” idea this time! Issue #24 is a wholly unique fusion of two halves to create one flippable whole – half of the issue’s content is viewable rightside up from Solgaleo’s perspective, while the other half can only be read the right way if you begin your flipping from Lunala’s cover. It’s pretty nifty!

(And don’t worry, digital readers. We’ve made all the content viewable correctly for you when you can’t physically flip the magazine in your hands.)

In addition to the special dual cover, print copies of Issue #24 are packaged with a unique bonus item: an Alola Region postcard! Keep it as a memento of the time you’re about to spend exploring the Hawaii-inspired new corner of the Pokémon world, or mail it to a friend! (It’s an actual postcard. I don’t know about you, but after 20 years of playing Pokémon games, it’s become a bit difficult for my brain to instantly recall all of the different ways the 18 different types of monsters interact with one another. This wall poster will serve as a quick reference – hang it up next to where you plan to sit and do most of your exploring of Alola and you’ll be able to get Super Effective hits all the time!
